Studying integral theory is mind opening, but doing integral practices
is transformative, and living an integral life is what really matters.
There are many ideas about integral practices, but what really works? What do we really know about the effects and effectiveness of practices ranging from diet and
exercise to meditation and service? This seminar will answer these
questions by reviewing the latest research on integral practices and
lifestyle choices. Participants should leave able to make informed
choices about which practices and lifestyles are likely to optimize
their well-being and growth.
Roger Walsh, M.D., Ph.D., D.H.L. is professor of psychiatry, philosophy,
and anthropology, and adjunct professor of religious studies at the
University of California at Irvine. His publications include “The State
of the Integral Art” in JITP and the books Essential Spirituality: The
Seven Central Practices and The World of Shamanism. He has also
coedited the books Gifts from A Course in Miracles, and Paths Beyond
Ego: The Transpersonal Vision. In addition to his academic work he has
been a student, researcher, and teacher of contemplative practices for
